Tablet Pc Fingerprint Reader

Finger Print Reader not working on latptop. Please help?

I have a HP Tx2000 tablet pc. This is what happened. I started getting weird respoonses to the finger print reader not wanting to read my fingers, then the USB device error in the bottom corner and now it won’t read at all. I have formated my cpu, and still nothing, even wen to the HP site and downloaded the newest drivers and software. Please help as I did like this. I am also not under warranty either. It might just be broken, but not sure how as its a fingerprint reader and attached to the monitor.

If you think its hardware can you suggest places to get it fixed for cheap?

It is not Hardware.

Rollback the driver if the previous version was working perfectly. This is a driver problem.

Also,

Remove the HP Credential Manager, reboot, then reinstall the HP ProtectTools Security Suite from the ‘Application and Driver Recovery DVD’.

If you don’t have the DVD: install from via Start >> All Programs >> HP Software Setup
