What’s the ideal PC spec for Graphic Design/artworking & Illustration work?

I am looking into buying a new beefier PC to run CS3 and a good tablet, in order to be able to work and create large image files doing illustration work and doing artworking with large size pages and images. So it would useful to know the minimum spec and ideal spec of PC to do this kind of work.
I will not be using it for TV or gaming purposes.
